How to keep on top of content

Oh it's embarrassing how long it has been since I wrote a post for our blog. The real reason is that I got too busy with work, had a baby, and didn't plan ahead. I thought I'd be able to stay on top of it, but like the old builders syndrome I spent all my time working for my customers instead of my own business.

After all, this is the primary reason that customers hire us - to help them stay on top of their marketing because they simply haven't got time to do it.  When you're really pressed for time here are a few considerations for priority:

Target market

Don't worry about getting to all your target markets, just focus on one. Talking to your customers or Members is often the best place to focus. This might mean getting a quarterly email out to your customers of Members to let them know what you've been doing and how they can spend more money with you.

Mediums

When you're time poor, don't spread yourself too thin. You don't have to be in all places at once such as print, website, social media and direct mail. Pick a medium that you think will serve best for its purpose and get it done on time in a quality way.  Concentrating your efforts on your highest yielding areas will reduce your marketing costs and return better results.

We think you should at least aim for an up to date website and at least one social media channel. You don't need to be on all the social media channels. Pick one and do it well.

Website

Your website is a dynamic document that has to be updated. If you do nothing else, make sure that the information on your website is up to date.
